When you get in touch
It helps to include:
- The Daywisp version, shown under Settings → About Daywisp.
- Your Windows version, and how many displays you use and their scaling.
- Which wallpaper you were using and what you expected to happen.
Daywisp keeps a small local desktop.log of desktop attachment and recovery events. It is designed to exclude coordinates, addresses, file paths and feed contents, but please review it before attaching it.
Common questions
The wallpaper says its data is stale or unavailable
Public sources occasionally go offline or report late. The scene holds still rather than guessing, and resumes automatically once fresh data arrives. Some sources only report hourly, so a buoy reading that is 50 minutes old is normal.
Daywisp doesn't start, or shows a WebView2 message
Daywisp needs the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. Install it from Microsoft's official WebView2 page (the Evergreen Runtime), then start Daywisp again.
The wallpaper disappeared after Windows restarted Explorer
Live wallpapers reconnect automatically after a short delay. If one doesn't return, open Daywisp from the system tray and press Apply again. Video wallpapers currently need to be reapplied.
My video won't play
Local video wallpapers require an independently installed compatible mpv player; it is not bundled with Daywisp. Select its mpv.exe under Settings. Supported formats depend on your mpv installation, and DRM-protected or damaged files may not play. The twelve built-in wallpapers work without mpv.
How do I quit completely?
Closing the window keeps your wallpaper running. Right-click the Daywisp icon in the system tray and choose Quit. Your usual Windows wallpaper returns.
How do I remove my data?
Uninstall Daywisp from Windows Settings, or quit it and delete its application-data folder. Your original video files are never touched. See the privacy policy for details.
